Our daughter Riley was born February 21, 2008 and from the beginning she has been a very medically complex child. She has an undiagnosed myopothy and while the doctors have run a countless number of test we still have no answers, just more medical bills. Due to her severe muscle weakness she is unable to swallow, cough, or gag. Riley has a tracheostomy tube and requires monitoring 24 hours a day so that we can protect her airway for her. She also has a gastrostomy-jejunostomy tube so that her food and medicines are delivered directly into her stomach and small intestine.
We are a young married couple with an 8 year old son at home as well.
We both work for a local church and by no means do we have the funds necessary to support all of Riley's medical needs, however we were deemed ineligible by 3 different government assistance programs that we applied for. Also, because Riley's condition remains undiagnosed she does not fit into any one medical foundation or assistance programs. Riley is quite the little fighter and has made a great deal of progress already. Please help us continue to provide her with the nursing, equipment, medicine, and specialist necessary for her to continue to get better. Thank you and God Bless.
